With our air conditioning not working and already feeling the heat in Southern France, with the Mediterranean, Turkey and Iran still to come – we decided to improvise and now have some temporary air conditioning in the form of a rattling, loud fan.

A Day in France
After a long day’s journey across the plains of France, we’ve set up camp in a friendly place near Dijon. It was a long day but a great start, we checked out a reconstructed Roman Fort along route. As well as this exciting visit, we had some unfortunate encounters with French toilet technology. I had the toilet spew water all over my feet, while Simon lost his trouser button to the dreaded lavatory. Interesting country, France. But aside from our experiences of confusion with the toilets here, we’ve had a great time and met some great people. A special thanks goes to those that run the campsite we stayed at, very welcoming people.
France
The adventure begins! After circling London a couple of times thanks to a faulty satnav, and intense questioning as to whether there was “only one car in this rally”, we finally embarked upon the Euro shuttle. Now we’re traveling across the plains of France, and hopefully onwards to Switzerland, hopefully all in one day.
We also now have the live map working, so you can follow our travel and see exactly where we are.
